The status bar is displayed at the bottom of the main window of Atlantis:
It reports various status information about the active document (the cursor position, current language, spellcheck status, etc). It can also be used to perform some actions on the document like changing the zoom, switching view modes, navigating among potential misspellings, and more.
Use the "View | Status Bar" menu command to show or hide the status bar.
The status bar is divided into sections, each displaying a different type of information. Use the "Tools | Customize | Status Bar..." menu command to specify which sections should be displayed by the status bar.
You can hover the mouse over individual sections of the status bar for a brief description and a list of possible actions.

Modified | Displays "Modified" if the active document contains unsaved changes. You can click it to save the active document. |

Insert/Overwrite mode | Reports the current text entry mode - Insert or Overwrite. You can click this section to toggle the text entry mode. | ||||||||

Current language | This section reports language of the current document selection. It is blank when the selected text includes fragments associated with different languages. You can click this section to change the language for the selected text. You can also right-click it for the list of recently used languages. |

Characters with/without spaces | Reports the character count (including or not including space characters) of the active document. You can click this section to open the Document Statistics dialog. | ||||||||
Words | Reports the word count of the active document. You can click this section to open the Document Statistics dialog. | ||||||||
File size | Reports the current file size of the active document. It is blank if the active document doesn't yet have a file on the disk. You can click this section to open the Document Statistics dialog. | ||||||||

Writing target | Reports progress towards the writing target set for the active document. | ||||||||

Zoom | Reports the current zoom level of the active document. You can use the zoom slider to change the zoom: or click the zoom value to open the Zoom dialog: |

Color mode | Click to switch to a different color mode. | ||||||||
Notifications | This section automatically displays on the status bar when there are notifications available in Atlantis. Click it to view the notifications. |
Besides the commands to hide and customize the status bar, the right-click menu of the status bar includes a command to control its width:
When this option is checked, the status bar's width always matches the width of the Atlantis main window:
When the "Maximum width" option is unchecked, and there are left- or right-aligned elements in the Atlantis window - the Control Board or the vertical toolbars - the status bar's width matches the width of the document editing area in the Atlantis window:
