When the current paragraph is formatted with bullets, you can start a new paragraph not formatted with bullets if you place the cursor at the end of the current paragraph, and press Enter twice.
Status bar

The status bar is a GUI component displayed at the bottom of the main window of Atlantis:

It reports various statistical information about the active document (the cursor position, current language, spellcheck status, etc). It can be also used to perform some actions on the document like changing the zoom, switching view modes, navigating among potential misspellings, and more.

The status bar is divided into sections, each displaying a different type of information. Use the "Tools | Customize | Status Bar..." menu The main menu or simply menu is a horizontal bar with clickable commands anchored to the top of the main window of Atlantis:

You can hover the mouse over individual sections of the status bar for a brief description and list of possible actions.

See the table below for information on individual sections of the status bar:

Section name Description
Caret position

Under the Draft view mode, reports the following information:

  • the current document section number,
  • the document section count,
  • the current line number in document,
  • the current character number in the current paragraph line.

Under the Print Layout view mode, reports the following information:

  • the current page number,
  • the page count,
  • the current document section number,
  • the document section count,
  • vertical distance from the top edge of the current page to the current paragraph line,
  • the current line number in page,
  • the current character number in the current paragraph line.

You can click this section to bring up the Go to... dialog. If the active document includes bookmarks, you can right-click this section for the list of document bookmarks:

Modified Displays "Modified" if the active document contains unsaved changes.

You can click it to save the active document.
Insert/Overwrite mode Reports the current text entry mode - Insert or Overwrite. You can click this section to toggle the text entry mode.
Status icons This section can display the following status icons:
Icon Description
'Safe Copy created' status bar icon Displayed if a safe copy was created for the active document.
'Restored from Safe Copy' status bar icon Displayed if the active document was restored from a safe copy after a fatal crash or accidental shutdown of your computer.
'Encrypted' status bar icon Displayed when the active document is encrypted.
Current language This section reports language of the current document selection. It is blank when the selected text includes fragments associated with different languages.

You can click this section to change the language for the selected text. You can also right-click it for the list of recently used languages.
Spellcheck status Please see the Spellchecking topic for details.
Characters with/without spaces Reports the character count (including or not including space characters) of the active document. You can click this section to open the Document Statistics dialog.
Words Reports the word count of the active document. You can click this section to open the Document Statistics dialog.
File size Reports the current file size of the active document. It is blank if the active document doesn't yet have a file on the disk. You can click this section to open the Document Statistics dialog.
Writing time/speed Please see the Writing Time & Speed topic for details.
Writing target Reports progress towards the writing target set for the active document.
Draft View Click to activate the Draft view mode.
Draft View (wrap to window) Click to activate the Draft (wrap to window) view mode.
Print Layout View Click to activate the Print Layout view mode.
Zoom Reports the current zoom level of the active document.

You can use the zoom slider to change the zoom:
