As you know, most commands and operations in word processors are performed on selections, that is on continuous fragments of document enclosed between two caret positions. To perform any operation on several non-consecutive fragments, you normally have to select each fragment separately and apply the command to each of them, one after the other.
But in Atlantis, document selections can include several individual fragments scattered across a paragraph, a page, even across a whole document. Here are examples of possible selections:
"Say Lord strike you dead if you don't!" said the man. I said so, and he took me down. "Now," he pursued, "you remember what you've undertook, and you remember that young man, and you get home!" "Goo-good night, sir," I faltered. "Much of that!" said he, glancing about him over the cold wet flat. "I wish I was a frog. Or a eel!" |

Selecting multiple fragments is very easy. You only have to make a first individual selection in the traditional way. Then hold the Ctrl key down and select any additional fragment with the mouse pointer. Release the Ctrl key and the mouse button when the selection is complete. To exclude an item from a multiple selection, click it while still holding the Ctrl key pressed.
After making a multiple selection in your document, you can perform nearly any Atlantis command on it.
