Normally there is a one-to-one relationship between note references and notes. Every note (either footnote or endnote) has a single corresponding note reference within the document main text:
But in some cases you may need to have multiple references to the same note within a document.
So when you need to create additional references to an existing note, you can proceed in the following way:
Click the location in the document where you want an additional reference to the existing note:
Choose the "Insert | Field..." menu command, or click the corresponding toolbar button .
In the "Field" dialog, choose the "Note Reference" type from the "Fields" list, then click the required note:
To make a new note reference clickable, check the "Insert as hyperlink" dialog:
Click the "OK" button to create a new note reference:
You can create as many note references to the same note as you need.
Note: When you insert new notes to the document or remove existing notes, Atlantis automatically updates numbers of all standard note references. But the note references created through the "Field" dialog, are not automatically updated. In order to update them, you first need to select them in the document. To do so, you can press CtrlA in the document. This would select the entire document text (including all the "note reference" fields). Then choose the "Insert | Update Fields..." menu command, or press ShiftF9, or click the corresponding toolbar button . But if the document includes fields of other types that you do not want to update, you can precisely select the "note reference" fields with the Reveal formatting panel of the Control Board:
