You can normally access this dialog by choosing the "Insert | Columns..." menu The main menu or simply menu is a horizontal bar with clickable commands anchored to the top of the main window of Atlantis:

Use this dialog to change the column formatting of the active document.

Click any of the predefined patterns found in the Presets box to select the desired columns formatting preset.

Use the Number of columns box to specify a custom number of columns.

To instruct Atlantis to display a vertical line between columns, check the Line between box.

If the Equal column width box is checked, all columns will have same width. Otherwise columns can be resized independently.

Use the Width and Spacing boxes to specify dimensions of each column. "Spacing" is a blank area between neighboring columns.

The Apply to box tells where your new column settings would be applied to. Possible destinations for the column formatting depend on the current document selection. Note: If you choose to apply the column settings to "Selected text" or "This point forward", the corresponding document fragment would be converted into a new document section separated from the rest of the document with section breaks.
