This version of Atlantis Word Processor is a minor release with the following changes:
- This version makes creating eBooks in the Kindle format easier. Previously, in order to enable creation of eBooks in the Kindle MOBI format in Atlantis you had to manually download the kindlegen utility from Amazon, and put it in the home folder of Atlantis on your PC. Now after you save a document as eBook, Atlantis checks if the kindlegen utility is available under the home folder of Atlantis. If not available, Atlantis might display the following message:
If you choose to download the kindlegen utility, the MOBI version of your eBook would be created automatically.
Now Atlantis checks not only its home folder ("C:\Program Files\Atlantis" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Atlantis") for the kindlegen utility, but also the "My documents\Atlantis" folder. The latter is more accessible to users on any system.
- The kindlegen utility supports a number of command-line options. They can be used to control the MOBI generation. By default, Atlantis launches the kindlegen utility with no command-line options. But if you are familiar with the Windows Registry Editor utility (regedit), you can adjust the corresponding item of the Atlantis settings in the Windows Registry in order to add required kindlegen options:
Let's take an example. By default, kindlegen puts a copy of the source EPUB ebook into the generated MOBI file. This is why your MOBI files are normally significatly larger than the corresponding EPUB files. If you do not need a copy of the source EPUB file in your MOBI eBook, you can add the "-dont_append_source" parameter to the KindleGen command-line of Atlantis in the Windows Registry:
Important note: you should close all the running copies of Atlantis (if any) before editing the Atlantis settings in the Windows Registry.
- Bug fixes (searching with wildcards and regular expressions, loading horizontal lines from .docx files, and more).
