Migrating to a new PC
When you switch to a new or unfamiliar PC, most likely you won't feel at home until you can work with Atlantis again. You will want to install Atlantis on the new PC, and import your custom settings. Here is how to proceed:
- Launch Atlantis on your old computer if it is not running yet, and open the Tools | Options... dialog.
- Press the Save to File... button, and save your current Atlantis settings to the home folder of Atlantis on your hard drive (by default, to "C:\Program Files\Atlantis").
- Use your file manager (by default, Windows Explorer) to copy the whole home folder of Atlantis (by default, "C:\Program Files\Atlantis") to a USB flash drive or to any other removable storage device (CD, DVD, etc).
- Download the latest standard setup of Atlantis Word Processor from our site, and run it on your new system. Complete the setup, but do not launch the newly installed copy of Atlantis yet.
- Connect your flash drive or other storage device to the new PC.
- Use your file manager, and copy the home folder of Atlantis on the flash drive to the home folder of Atlantis on the new PC (by default, to "C:\Program Files\Atlantis"). Overwrite files when asked by the file manager.
- Launch Atlantis on the new PC, and open the Tools | Options... dialog.
- Press the Load from File... button, and load the Atlantis settings from the INI file available under the home folder of Atlantis on the PC (by default, "C:\Program Files\Atlantis").
