Abоut multiple selection mode

Post by Lumenman »

I like multiple selection mode. I activate it and start editing text. If I'm just writing, everything works. But if I start deleting text, the mode turns off. It would be better if the mode didn't turn off when using Backspace (deleting text). Because it's not always possible to enter data correctly, and deleting is part of the editing process.
Update: Deleting selected text in this mode is also appropriate, as pasting still works.

A "multiple selection" in Atlantis is just a selection of multiple non-adjacent fragments of a document. This is a type of selection, not a mode. I don’t understand how you “activate multiple selection mode”.

I used personal computers for forty years before I discovered that you could make multiple selections by holding down Ctrl while you selected with the mouse. :D

However, some programs do not let you do that. Unfortunately.

This is quite an old feature introduced in MS Word 2002 (XP). By the way, unlike MS Word, Atlantis supports overtyping a multiple selection (multiple insertion points). You can also use the Paste command to replace each item of a multiple selection with the clipboard contents.

Hi rstroud,
I am using Atlantis 5.0.2.1 and in the RTF files I am able to select multiple text strings while holding down the Ctrl key with the mouse. As far as I know I have always been able to do that in Atlantis. I rarely do this anymore as Atlantis now, and for a while, has been able to find all occurrences of a selected word or string and select all of them by pressing the Enter key when the mode is enabled.
