Re: Incorrect saving of PDF

Thanks for the info. Yes, this is a DirectWrite rendering with grayscale antialiasing in your screen capture. And it is weird because quite a number of users have reported problems with this rendering method in Atlantis under Wine (black boxes instead of actual paragraphs). This means that this ...

Re: Incorrect saving of PDF

I am asking because the default text rendering method in Atlantis is DirectWrite. As I understand, it does not work in Atlantis on all Linux systems (black rectangles instead of paragraphs). Is this how documents get displayed under this method on your system?

Re: Incorrect saving of PDF

By the way, what text rendering method do you use in Atlantis ("Tools | Options... > Accessibility > Render document text using:")?

Re: PDF files produced with Atlantis: Page breaks

I have no idea how PDF-XChange Editor decides what to crop. There are no paragraphs in PDF documents, and there is no such thing as “space after a paragraph” as well. I am not aware of a method to mark blank space at the bottom of a page in a PDF document as “non-croppable”.

This will be fixed in the next build of Atlantis. Sorry for this. Thanks for reporting this.

Re: Incorrect saving of PDF

As I understand it, you run Atlantis on Linux. Needless to say, Atlantis is not a native Linux application. Yes, you can run Atlantis under Linux thanks to Wine. But I am personally aware of quite a number of issues with Atlantis on Linux, from non-working features to trivial visual glitches. Some ...

Re: PDF files produced with Atlantis: Problem with hyperlinks

But at any rate SumatraPDF is not the only PDF-reader with this problem.
As I tried to explain, Atlantis generates proper link (annotation) destinations according to the PDF specification.

Re: PDF files produced with Atlantis: Problem with hyperlinks

This is a SumatraPDF-specific issue. This PDF reader does not completely follow the PDF specification regarding annotation destinations.

Re: PDF files produced with Atlantis: Problem with hyperlinks

SumatraPDF seems to be the only PDF reader that does not support null values within the link (annotation) destinations. If you care about this PDF reader, you can report the issue to its developers. I am sure it is very easy to fix.

Re: PDF files produced with Atlantis: Problem with hyperlinks

Thanks for the files.

After comparing the links in the two PDFs, I think I can suggest an explanation.

In both PDFs, the following syntax is used for hyperlink destinations:

[page /XYZ left top zoom]

Unlike go4convert, Atlantis specifies “null” for “left” meaning that the PDF reader does not ...

Re: Imported RTF from Word not formatting correctly

If you can’t post the entire document file, you can send an excerpt showing the problem. Not much can be done with the screenshots only.

Can you post a sample MS Word document that when converted to PDF with Atlantis does not function correctly in SumatraPDF?

Re: PDF files produced with Atlantis: Problem with hyperlinks

I just ran a portable copy of SumatraPDF. The hyperlinks work as intended.

Did you generate that PDF file using version 5.0.0.0 or 5.0.0.1 of Atlantis? Version 5.0.0.1 includes a hot fix regarding decimal separators in PDFs for systems where the default decimal separator is a comma, not a period.

How do I include a picture in here?

When the "Exact match" option is unchecked:

all types of quotes, both single and double, match. In the next build, there will be a distinction between single and double quotes.

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 5 announcement

There are two options to save as PDF: a main menu command and a toolbar button. Which one do you mean? If you mean a toolbar button, you may have previously customized your toolbars. If so, you can install a new toolbar button through the "Tools | Customize | Toolbars..." menu command.

Re: get rid of pesky tabs

You can use the Find/Replace tool of Atlantis:

1. Press Ctrl+H.
2. Type ^t into the "Find what" box.
3. Type a space character into the "Replace with" box, or leave this box blank.
4. Click "Replace All".

Re: How to prevent text such as "10/16" from displaying as a fraction by default

This is a quite old version. The "Format fractions ..." option of the AutoCorrect in more recent versions of Atlantis applies only to single digit fractions.
