I was worried I wasn't clear enough - the version of AWP in the Program Files folder is the regular version, NOT the portable one.
I will double-check the sounds - I thought I had them all turned off.
For now, as all seems to work, I'll see how it goes and follow your advice about zipping and ...

Re: Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
Sorry for the delay - very long couple of days of work with little sleep.
Here's the screencap after I ran the Command Line:

Re: Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
Sorry for sounding stupid, but do I copy/paste “C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmd.exe” and THEN copy paste "echo %programfiles(x86)%"?
I don't like playing around in DOS anymore, though it's how I started in the late 80s.
OK. Here are instructions that will most likely work:

Re: Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
I followed your instructions and installed the portable copy.
It has now happened AGAIN. However, I think I know what the issue is. My computer went to sleep while I had Atlantis open. This never used to be an issue, but I think the same thing happened last weekend as well, but I can't say for sure ...

Re: Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
Success, at last. Thank you!!
I will note, however, that Atlantis was installed initially to my C: drive, not my G: drive, so I thought I had followed your instructions.
Either way, all set now. I really appreciate you sticking through this with me. I had no idea how dependent I was on AWP until ...

I did that, and it didn't make a difference. Still had the same issue. Added the following files to excluded list in McAfee, rebooted comptuer, still no change:

Re: Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
But WHY would this suddenly happen after years of it working fine?
I don't have time to muck about with testing. I don't want to give up on Atlantis, but if it just gives up on me like this, I won't have a choice.

Re: Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
I don't think that's the issue as it had worked five minutes before and for years previously - all that changed was a reboot.

Access violation at 0040207F in awp.exe
Hey there,
First - using Atlantis on a Win11Pro Dell laptop (up-to-date).
After a recent restart of my computer (after using it much of the day with no issues), I opened Atlantis, but when I tried to type, it threw the following at me:

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
UPDATE: It's a problem with my Control key!
All of a sudden my Hot Keys aren't working reliably. They were fine and then, suddenly, Ctrl-s, instead of Saving, just gives me an "s" and from time to time Ctrl-x, Ctrl-c, and Ctrl-v are giving me just the letters x, c, and v, instead of cutting ...
