less sticky Find / Replace popup?

Post by AEN007 »

Right now the F/R popup stays open after the "Information"/Search complete popup appears & then closes.
I think it would be nice if users could set the F/R popup to close automatically
after the Search complete popup appears & then closes ...

When the Search Complete "Information" window is displaying, press the “Esc” (Escape) key and hold it down for a second. The “Search Complete” window will disappear along with the Find/Replace dialog… Magic!
HTH.

I find that your reply is inaccurate/distorted.

Holding down ESC will close the Complete popup;
then the Search popup will reappear and then close IF I am stil holding down ESC.

That is NOT the behavior my posts suggests,
and what your post suggests is hardly magic ...

I never suggested that pressing the “Esc” key was equivalent to automatic behavior. Obviously, it is a workaround. But if you hold the “Esc” key down a fraction of a second longer than is normally necessary to close the first dialog, both dialogs will close with one single keystroke, —and rather quickly, unless you have a very slow system.

... and add the following»
Atlantis does not keep the selection after doing a replace within a selection.
It would be nice if Atlantis could/would keep the selection after doing a replace
(especially because the F/R popup is so sticky ...).
I often want to do more than one replace within a selection.

Also I noticed when searching an rtf file where I try to inventory important global & local hotkeys
(represented by symbols !^+# and other ASCII/UniCode characters/symbols)
that Atlantis won't find some combos like !^+# and not !^+ but will find !^ ...

It seems to me I could make this post here or there ... or as a bug report ...

Alt-ArrowUp & Alt-ArrowDown do not properly open
the ComboBoxes on the Find/Replace popup ...
Only clicking on the little ComboBox upside down triangle does ...
