The main menu Window menu item numbers open files.
How about if the Recent Documents under the main menu File menu item also numbered files in the list?

How about the ability to save/restore sessions?

The "recent documents" list of Atlantis can include up to 30 items (see the "Tools | Options... > General > Number of items in the histories" option). Including numbers in the "File | Recent Documents" menu would not work because the menu items could have only 10 unique "keyboard accelerators" (underlined digits).

There are various ways to deal with that issue.
SynWrite does the best (that I have seen) by assigning 1 through 0 for the first 10 and
then assigning A through Z for the next 26 ...
Atlantis could number only the first 10 or
number them all but only give hotkeys to the first 10 or
follow SynWrite's approach or ...
