Weird tab problem with footnote creation
I pulled up an old document I haven't worked on in a while and started adding footnotes, but they are adding with a half inch margin for some reason. All the old footnotes have no margin, beginning at the left side of the page,. I didn't see a setting where I can change the tab of the footnotes and am at a loss as to why this is happening. This happened a long time ago and I think I had to copy and past everything into a new document to fix it. Is there some fix for this I have not thought of?

You can choose the "Format | Style..." menu command of Atlantis, click "Modify...", then "Paragraph..." and check the left indent in the "Paragraph Format" dialog.

That would affect the footnotes? These footnote tabs can't be deleted either. I just get the popup warning about having to delete the footnote number in the body of the paragraph to delete the footnote. It's like it's some kind of footnote tab setting somewhere.
Re: Weird tab problem with footnote creation
If you mean a tab character inserted in a document when you press the Tab key, it can be deleted as any other character in a paragraph.
If you mean paragraph indents, they can be changed through the “Paragraph Format” dialog. You can change indents for a selection of paragraphs as direct formatting (choose the “Format | Paragraph… menu command) or by adjusting the paragraph format of the corresponding paragraph style (“Format | Style… > Modify… > Paragraph…”).
If you mean something else, please post a screen capture or a sample document file.

Re: Weird tab problem with footnote creation
It's resolved. It was obeying the tab setting on the ruler at the top of the document. I didn't remember seeing the footnote every doing that before. thanks for your time.
Re: Weird tab problem with footnote creation
Tab stops applied to a paragraph do not change its appearance unless the paragraph contains actual tab characters.
It would be easier to make suggestions if you posted a sample document file.
