By the way: in the proposed guidance, reference is made to two leading zeros which is surprising, because
ALT+0252 generates the same result as ALT+00252 or ALT+000252 and if I increase the number of leading zeros, I will still get "ü" . Therefore ONE leading zero seems to be enough!

this is the solution: the number lock was NOT on and when I activate it, Atlantis works properly. This must be a new feature, since this requirement exists only for Atlantis (if I type this note directly into my firebird browser, I can compose special characters in the described way with or without ...

Unicode in Atlantis
something seems to have dropped out of my mind - or out of Atlantis? I have been using this editor for ages and since I type on a french keyboard, I got used to enter the ASCII or Unicode when I wrote e.g. a German text where the "ß" character can be achieved by ALT+0223 etc.
