Save as HTML - the dialog is tiny and non-resizable [bug?]

Post by Leopoldus »

The common behavior of any Open/Save as... shell Explorer dialog under Windows (since Windows XP, if I do not mistake), that all dialogs of that type are manually resizable and do remember the last settings of the size assigned by a user.

It seems, that due to some bug in Atlantis code the dialog "Save as web-page" dialog (File -> Save Special... -> Save as Web-page...) is not resizabel.

For those users, who (like me) use this option quite often, it is far not a little thing, but it causes much headache and inconveniences, because this tiny window does not let us see, which files are already in the target folder. I've several time accidentally written over and lost some important files due to this fact    Is it possible to repair this bug in some close future version?

NB!
It's a bit odd, that this non-resizable dialog does however allow to change the view mode from the default brief to, say, detailed or thumbnail and even remember the user choice when is called next time,

The file names are clearly visible in the target folder on my system (Windows 8 64-bit).

What’s more, you should normally get a pop-up confirmation dialog whenever you are going to overwrite a file with same name. This is standard behavior in all Windows systems.

Sorry, Robert, it seems, that I was not able to describe the problem intelligibly.
There is no a question, whether file names are clearly visible in the target folder or not. (Well, the list is empty at my screenshot, but it does not matter: this my current target folder is simply empty, so the list has no anything to display).
The issue what I talk about (BTW you could conclude it from the title of this topic) is, that this dialog anyway is too tiny and is not manually resizable in the contrary to any other Open/Save as... dialog window, for example, being compared to Atlantis' own regular RTF/DOC/etc Save as... dialog (see the screenshot below:

Surely. But it does not eliminate completely probability of an accidental human error.

If you confirm that you want to overwrite a file with same name, this is no “accidental human error”. It is either something you want to do, or deliberate misdoing!

Note that you will see more of the file names if you choose to have them displayed as a “List” in this “Save As Web Page” dialog.

You totally disregard the essence of my message and prefer to discuss many other things instead of the one I've asked about. To sidetrack a question might be a good tactics for a politician or a diplomat, but not so good for a software support team. :(
Or may be you really think, that a tiny non-resizable explorer window is more convenient for a user, than big and resizable one? 8O

In this event you will not see the details of files, what is important as well.

There is no bug. "Non-standard" ("custom") open/save dialogs are not resizable by default.

But yes, the default size of the open/save dialogs is too small in some circumstances.

All the open/save dialogs of Atlantis (starting version 1.6.5.12) will share the same size settings, and will be resizable and bigger by default.

Please upgrade to the latest beta version of Atlantis.

Thank you very much! This little change will really add much of convenience for a user. :D
starting version 1.6.5.12
Hm-m... The version 1.6.5.12 is the current beta, which has been released at 8th of April :? Did you mean "starting the next version after 1.6.5.12"?

P.S.
I'm so happy, that I dare to remind one my old feature request regarding the default loop cycle of the default windows/files names http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en ... php?t=1142. It is the same sort of as the subject of this topic. I mean, that supposedly it might demand 3-5 minutes of work only from the author in order to change some figures in the Atlantis' source code, but the change will bring considerably more convenience for a user.
