Default Folder

I have been using Atlantis briefly, and whenever I open a new file the program always starts looking in the same default folder, the My Documents folder under Windows. Previous word processing programs have gone to the last folder that had been written to.

This is getting to be a bit of a nuisance and I'm wondering how I am supposed to handle this. What is the normal way of getting to start at the document folder that is in active use?
