Save as Open Document Text (.odt)

Hey Atlantis Team, I just read the exciting news about tables - can we have open document text format save option as well?

It would be useful to me as well if we could save in .odt format as well as open such files! Here's hoping!

The problem is that converting documents between ODT and the MS Word formats inevitably means the loss of formatting. This is because the ODT format is not fully compatible with the formats natively used in MS Word. The document structure, style formatting, and paragraph formatting attributes are all different in ODT.

Importing what you support from an ODT document is one thing. But there is no better way to create ODT documents than with LibreWriter itself.

Thanks for the explanation. My issue is I receive a mix of files in different formats from other people, including ODT, rather than produce them myself. I can (and do) save them to other formats, but obviously it'd be quicker for me if I didn't have to do so. No worries, though, sounds like the effort to implement this would be large relative to the gain.
