same style in each opening document

Post by Marttta »

Hello,
I wonder if enyone could help me :?: When I open new file I have to set new style, becasue every new document has font Arial size 11.

Do you know how to save my style configurations so it will always be in another new document without setting it again and again... :?

Thank you for any advices :)

1 ) Click “File | Document Templates…”
2) Double-click “Normal.rtf” in the list.
3) Click “Format | Style…”
4) Select the “Normal” style if it isn’t already selected, and press the “Modify” button.
5) Click the “Font…” button and set the font properties as desired.
6) OK out of all open dialog windows.
7) Press Ctrl+S to save the “Normal.rtf” template.
Finally, press Ctrl+W to close the “Normal.rtf” template.

Thanks, Robert, it helped :)

However it is working only for the Normal font.
When I try to use Heading 1, 2, 3 the font Arial is still there.
I don't know how to change that.
Even modyfining all the Headings in Normal font file it isn't working...

There is nothing like the “Normal font”. There is the “Normal.rtf” template, and the “Normal” style.
If the Heading 1, 2, 3 styles do not use the desired font properties, you need to change these properties for each of these styles.

1 - Click “File | Document Templates…”
2 - Double -click “Normal.rtf” in the list.
3 - Click “Format | Style…”
4 - Select the “Heading 1” style if it isn’t already selected, and press the “Modify” button.
5 - Click the “Font…” button and set the font properties as desired.
6 - OK out of the “Font Format” and “Edit Style” dialog windows.
7 - Back in the “Style” dialog, select the “Heading 2” style, and press the “Modify” button.
8 - Click the “Font…” button and set the font properties as desired.
9 - OK out of the “Font Format” and “Edit Style” dialog windows.
10 - Back in the “Style” dialog, select the “Heading 3” style, and press the “Modify” button.
11 - Click the “Font…” button and set the font properties as desired.
12 - OK out of the “Font Format” and “Edit Style” dialog windows.
13 - OK out of all open dialog windows.
14 - Press Ctrl+S to save the “Normal.rtf” template.
15 - Finally, press Ctrl+W to close the “Normal.rtf” template.

Thanks a lot Robert :)

It did help :)
Do You think there is also a possiblity to do the same thing for the Normal.doc if I create such file?
It would be great because I rahter save files as .doc than .rtf...
