Re: Autocorrect entries lost (again)

I don’t know if you’ll manage to restore your AutoCorrect entries. But here is something you could do in the future to make sure your AutoCorrect entries are never lost. I have been using this method for years myself. It involves saving your Atlantis settings manually to a custom INI file and system...

Re: allcaps

In all word processing software, and therefore in Atlantis, the basic formatting of characters concerns their appearance when typed, i.e. the initial intention of the document's author. This intention is expressed firstly by the choice of a given font (Arial, Times New Roman, etc.), then by the lowe...

Re: allcaps

The difference between ALL CAPS and UPPERCASE is common to all word processors. Please take a look at Difference Between UPPERCASE and All Caps . This article is about PowerPoint but it is valid for all word processors. When you type text with the Caps Lock key engaged, you are actually typing in UP...

Re: allcaps

Hi Frank, When the Caps Lock key is pressed, the letters are automatically typed in UPPERCASE. If you release the Caps Lock key, the letters are no longer automatically typed in UPPERCASE. Typing actually returns to LOWERCASE. On the other hand, ALL CAPS is a property of the Font Format associated w...

Re: How can I find the character code for a letter?

Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Atlantis 4.3.4.1 beta a0 under factory settings. Here is how “X-bar_Issue.docx” is displaying on my system: https://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en/forum/files/x_overbar.png As you can see, the overbar is displaying directly over the 'x'. Have you tried opening “X-bar_Issue....

Re: How can I find the character code for a letter?

Hi Roland, If I type the “x” letter first, follow through with the code for the combining macron (0304), and press Alt+X, I get a proper x bar symbol in latest 4.3.4 Atlantis release under factory settings. See attached “X Bar Symbol.docx” whose x bar glyphs survived closing and reopening of that do...

Re: How can I find the character code for a letter?

Hi Alan, I don't know where I got the Noto fonts that are installed on my system. There are many. Windows 10 gives the following properties about my Noto Serif Regular font which seems to have been released in 2015: https://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en/forum/files/Noto_Serif_2036_0.png You can u...

Re: Tab behavior under 4.3 changed

Addendum. Here is from How can I align entries in a table? : Help : ITS : University of Sussex A Decimal Tab stop aligns numbers around a decimal point. Without regard to the number of digits, the decimal point remains in the same position. When you use this type of tab stop, you must align the numb...

Re: Tab behavior under 4.3 changed

Hi Robert, The reason I mix left and right tabs is to get the look of titles entered without tabs yet the post article (A, An, The, etc.) title which I alphabetize by are left aligned on the first line of the paragraph. Done this way I can scan a page of episodes by eye in several seconds to find t...

Re: Tab behavior under 4.3 changed

Hi Alan, I have created a document exemplifying the rational use of tab stops and tab characters. See attached "Tab Behavior.rtf". If you press Ctrl+A, then bring up the "Tabs" dialog ("Format | Tabs…"), you'll see the left-aligned tab stop values: https://www.atlantisw...

Re: Sort by headings

It cannot be done automatically. But you can right-click a heading and choose “Collapse All” in the menu.
When all headings are collapsed, you can reorder them in any suitable way through drag & drop or cut & paste.

Re: Opening screen image

The PrintScreen key takes a screen capture of the whole of your computer screen. The screen capture you made includes the Atlantis own interface, the Windows Taskbar, plus some third-party document where you pasted the text of one of the forum posts. Now the blank display you are seeing in Atlantis ...
