Indeed, it says Picture in the drop down list. I was looking for Graphics, as in Word, so I didn't see it...

Sort by headings
In Word it's possible to sort a document by headings. Can we do that in AWP?

AWP and Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking
Unlike Word, AWP is not compatible with Dragon Naturally Speaking. I was wondering how hard it would be to make it so.

Outline view in document window
An option to automatically hide or collapse specific headings or chapters in the document window, as in MS Word Outline View, would be nice.

Outline view
I want to view only headings down to a specified level, as in Word Outline View. To do this I Collapse All, which leaves level 1 headings. To see the level 2 headings of a level 1 heading I right click on that heading and Collapse. To see all level 2 headings, I first search for level 1 headings, se...

Heading coloring
I'd like to color my level 2 headings so I created the Style vert2 based on Heading 2 and with the appropriate paragraph shading (green). When I place the cursor on a (level 2) heading and select that style, it turns green indeed, but it looses its heading property (e.g. it's no longer a heading). H...

Hyperlink to headings
It's only possible to link to bookmarks. It would be useful to be able to link to headings as well (more useful, in fact, in my view).

Add hatching to paragraph shading options
The unobtrusive hatching used for the Selection is great. It would be nice to be able to apply it to any paragraph, with choice of color.

I understand the logic of losing formatting when resetting it, but I'm still looking for a simple way to reformat a document with the Normal style without losing italics and such. Deleting extraneous styles using the reveal panel is too slow (there are over 25 styles in this imported document). Incl...

How to reset font format without losing italics and bold?
I have an imported document with all sorts of styles in it. I want to remove those styles to keep it simple. So I use Reset Font Format, and now the document is in my default Normal font.
The problem is that all italics and bold are gone.
Is there a way to Reset the font format while keeping those?

Accents not recognized in Find
When an accented letter is used in the search box, the accent is ignored. For instance, searching for "é" will find "é", but also "e", "è", etc.

Window size is small when I open or create a document
It's a not a real problem but it keeps bugging me.
Whenever I open a document, or create a new one, the window is very small. I can resize it of course, but I don't recall AWP doing that before (I'm using 4.0.6.11).
Is there a setting I changed unknowingly?

It's a bit faster, certainly. Thanks for looking into this. I actually converted my AHK script to an AutoCorrect file, as initially suggested by @Robert. Almost 10K entries: Atlantis made it easy. There are a few problems, and substitutions that don't make it (e.g. automatic string substitution with...

If Atlantis slowly responses to the AHK's keystrokes on your system, there should be same delay in case with standard key presses. I don't find this to be the case (see GIF). If having a floating picture in the document is a necessary condition to reproduce the delays, this whole issue is unrelated...

To this already long thread let me add 2 observations: It's only the Square and Tight image layouts that cause drastic slowdown with AHK. In Line with Text doesn't. On a whim I installed AWP 4.0.2 on an old, 32-bit laptop running XP. AHK is significantly faster there! I thought 32-bit vs 64-bit AHK ...

There is definitely something going on there with AHK hotstrings replacement. I made those 2 recordings showing the words rome and florence being replaced with Rome and Florence. The 2 files have the same text in them, yet the second one is more responsive to AHK than the first. I'd be happy to try ...
