There have been many changes in Atlantis since version 3.3. Importing too old settings would not always work flawlessly.

Hmm, I can understand that notion, and other software works that way too, but autocorrect settings (a .txt file) seem basic enough that they should be able to be kept intact ...

Wow, that is super strange. I didn't make any changes to it, so I was going to say that it had to have been corrupted simply by installing v4.3 over v3.3. But then I looked at backups and they all have that "t to it" as well. Yet it never manifested in v3.3.

I also saved a copy of the v3.3 ...

I used the test copy of Atlantis with factory settings and the autocorrect bug doesn't occur there. What would be the next steps?

It happens even after I imported an older (working) AutoCorrect Options English (United States).txt . And 'it doesn't even exist in any of the autocorrect files. Nor in the new ...

I noticed that from v3.x to v4.x the headings listed in the control board were changed to be less compact. I prefer the older, more compact style. I don't see a way to modify it though.

Notepad++ has an awesome feature that when you select a word or phrase it will automatically highlight all other instances of it. Web browsers have a similar feature with the "ctrl+f" -> highlight all. I prefer the notepad++ style, but even the other one would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why do you say that when I just said I found a fully-portable one someone else made that is independent from USB stick usage?

BTW I found a truly portable version someone made. The download is just the .exe program (not installer), and when ran it creates a folder in which the program is self contained. The folder contains other folders such as "%AppData%", "%Local AppData%", etc..

I saw some talk of using 3rd party apps to make it fully portable but I don't have any experience with these kinds of things. Is there one you know works for sure? And if so, couldn't you just ...

I use a hard drive partition to keep all my documents and some programs so if I have to reformat the C: drive I don't have to spend a bunch of time backing things up and then moving them again after reinstall.
