You might find this useful. It's intended to perform a variety of organizational tasks for fiction writing.

To edit existing EPUB files the best option is the Sigil freeware app. It lets you see the rendered text and the HTML code in split screen, so you can tell what is really happening much better.

If you use Calibre for a conversion be sure to thoroughly check the resulting file in Kindle Previewer or an actual Kindle. Really? Were you a geology major? Because it's been quite a while and this market could really use an alternative with Atlantis qualities but the feature set isn't what it needs to be to play in the big leagues.

I strongly agree. The entire reason I started using Atlantis in the first place was the Save as EPUB feature. Being able to go directly from Word to an EPUB that passes validation checks is worth the price of purchase all by itself if you're doing e-book work regularly.
