ReactOS vs Atlantis 0.7

Just played around with ReactOS and tried to get Atlantis 0.7 to work cause I thought that it would be useful to have something like Wordpad. But there was the splash-screen only and thereafter ... nothing. Any ideas?

With a view on Lars' mail address I guess (perhaps he can say himself something on this point) that he is looking on a simple, german language easy to use word processor.

But he wrote on the old 0.7-version which he falsely relates to Nova. The preview-release 0.7 was the only german version ever existed.

ODT

Will Atlantis have odt-file export/import? Seems to become the next standard, replacement perhaps for rtf. OpenOffice, Abiword and Textmaker 2006 have it.

Nova

Just had a look at the new version - very stylish - and the new website. But ... what happened to Nova? I did not see it.

I ever try

I ever try to work with company-owned Word for Windows, but there is every day a point I plug in my private usb-stick for starting Atlantis to do my work in a satisfying way (for me satisfying of course).

It was just a general question. I am far away from replacing my w98-pc by something on which a 64bit-os could run :)

That's pity. Cos I ever thought that we could have more users when Atlantis would be able to creat sxw-files.

With Atlantis new version, will there be additional file-formats as sdw (StarWriter) or tmw (Textmaker)?

I don't know how and I don't know why... but when installing Atlantis to my USB-stick and storing my files there, it shows clearly the cod-files as rtf-files.

I couldn't reproduce it. Knew only that I got it to work a time ago. Perhaps admin or Robert could say something to this point.

Btw: has anyone information how safe programs as V-safe are? I just got a new usb-stick with this program.

For hiding your encrypted files you can replace the extension cod by e. g. rtf . When opening with Atlantis this shoudl be no problem.

So best and most secure solution is working with a cod-file, renaming it after saving to a rtf- or doc-extension.
