Re: Dir My Documents\Atlantis\ is unwanted

That's progress! Thank you for that!
Is the new version fully portable if I use the program directory for user files? Or does it write into other directories and/ or the registry?

Re: Dir My Documents\Atlantis\ is unwanted

I used the Imdisk-workaround for a few months now and it still works fine. It just has one side-effect: Windows Update doesn't work while the Imdisk-Service is loaded. Workaround: -> Deactivate the services ImDskSvc (ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver Helper) and ImDisk (ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver) e.g. by ...

Workaround: Dir My Documents\Atlantis\ is unwanted

Workaround: It's actually possible to emulate a removable drive in Windows 10: I first created a virtual disk using Windows Disk Management. I then mounted the virtual disk as a removable drive using the freeware ImDisk (Howto: see https://yoodley.com/create-a-virtual-usb-drive-in-windows/). I then ...

Re: Dir My Documents\Atlantis\ is unwanted

By the way, future releases of Atlantis might introduce an option to create "portable" installations of Atlantis on a non-removable disk (under any folder of user's choice). All the Atlantis settings and files would be stored under that folder. Anything new? I'm still using version 1- and...

Thank you for your answer! I would prefer a portable version to start with, but a portable Atlantis install seems to be possible only on USB-sticks ( http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2031&sid=11f16b1dd0061269d882054aa9907f64 ). I have a perfectly working harddisk, an...

Dir My Documents\Atlantis\ is unwanted

Hi I just upgraded to Atlantis 3.1.1. Every time I start Atlantis the sofware creates a directory in "My Documents". I don't want any new dirs there. I tried 1. starting Atlantis by command line (awp.exe /lsi /ssi /sfn "[Program Dir]l\Atlantis.ini" 2. Using an existing dir for he...

Thanks a lot, my swap-makro works now, after switching off "Smart Cut & Paste"- so for me the problem is solved. The auto-correct feature is nice, but not very useful to me- I'm writing texts containing sentences i several languages, with a lot of proprietary names or technical terms. ...

Swapping letters by hotkey

A frequent typing error is to swap to letters ( e.g. writing "brian" instead of "brain"). My very first text processor (a really long time ago on an Atari...) had a hotkey that swapped the letters back when the cursor is placed in between. I suppose, I'm not the only one who stru...

Tables once again

I see that there is a lot of heated discussions about tables in earlier threads- but I dare to open a thread on this again. As far as I understand, there are a few users who asked for viewing and editing tables as a feature for years, but it wasn't implemented yet. I would like to know why. Maybe th...

I'm not so sure about that. There are a lot of actions in Windows and programs I perform using both keyboard and mouse. The best known examples are Shift-click or CTRL-click for marking items in lists or using SHIFT-TAB to navigate through browser tabs while using the mouse for clicking on links. So...

Hotkey for switching between control board panels

Hello, one of the killing features of Atlantis for me is the control board. I mainly use two of the panels (Headings/ document structure and styles). I didn't find a way to switch between panels by hotkeys. It would be a nice feature to add. Maybe this is possible already and I just didn't find out ...

That was immediate support! Thank you very much. :-) 1 and 2.: The child windows display correctly on the secondary monitor now. Is this version stable enough for daily use? 3.: I did some further testing. When using the keyboard shortcuts ALT-Space-r to restore and then ALT-space-m, I can move the ...

Atlantis and two displays

Hello! There are a few problems when using Atlantis on a secondary display: 1. Most important: The Power Type dialogue always opens on the primary display, where it is useless. 2. All other dialogue (Save, Open etc.) open on the primary display too. 3. It is not possible to move the Atlantis Window ...
