Rulers
Rulers in Atlantis display various formatting characteristics of the selected paragraphs and sections, and allow to adjust these characteristics with the mouse.
Every document can display two rules - Horizontal ruler and Vertical ruler:

You can show or hide them through the View | Rulers main menu.
Horizontal ruler
The following picture illustrates all the components of the horizontal ruler:

You can place the mouse pointer over most components to get a tooltip with the information about this component:

You can use the horizontal ruler to call various dialogs. The following picture illustrates different regions of the horizontal ruler. Each region is displayed with its own color:

You can double-click each of these regions to call a corresponding dialog:
- Blue and Aqua regions - to call the Page Settings dialog,
- Green regions - to call the Paragraph Format dialog,
- Red regions - to call the Tabs dialog.
Left & Right Margins
Indicate the margins from the page settings of the current document section.
Left Margin Resizer
Allows to change the page left margin of the current document section.
Grab it with the mouse and drag until the required margin achieved.
Right Margin Resizer
Allows to change the page right margin of the current document section.
Grab it with the mouse and drag until the required margin achieved.
Ruler Core
You can click the Ruler Core to place a new tab position onto it.

First Line Indent/Outdent Box
Indicates the first line characteristic of the selected paragraphs.
Grab it with the mouse and drag to change the first line indent or outdent of the selected paragraphs.
Left Indent Box
Indicates the left indent characteristic of the selected paragraphs.
Grab it with the mouse and drag to change the left indent of the selected paragraphs.
Note if you grab the bottommost part of this box, both the First Line Indent/Outdent Box and Left Indent Box will be dragged synchronously.
Right Indent Box
Indicates the right indent characteristic of the selected paragraphs.
Grab it with the mouse and drag to change the right indent of the selected paragraphs.
Tab Selector Switch
Allows to choose a type of tabs that will be placed onto the Ruler Core when you click it.
Click the Tab Selector Switch until the desired tab type is displayed by this switch.

Tab Positions
Indicates custom tab positions of the selected paragraphs.
You can change custom tab positions by grabbing them with the mouse and dragging within the Ruler Core. Note that dragging outside the Ruler Core, removes this tab position.

You can also use the horizontal ruler to adjust the columns settings for the current section if it has multiple columns.
Vertical ruler

Top & Bottom Margins
Indicate the margins from the page settings of the current document section.
Top Margin Resizer
Allows to change the page top margin of the current document section.
Grab it with the mouse and drag until the required margin achieved.
Bottom Margin Resizer
Allows to change the page bottom margin of the current document section.
Grab it with the mouse and drag until the required margin achieved.
