Envelope Printing

Post by ialaw »

I am using Alantis 1.6.1.3 on a windows XP Pro. I can print envelopes using the "Monarch" envelope size but when I try to use the number 10 size, not only does nothing print, but I get 2 envelopes. I am, in fact, using No. 10 envelopes. The printer is a HP Deskjet 5150.

Any ideas? :?:

Envelope printing is the most troublesome area in word processing. Many printers behave very differently regarding the same requests made by a word processor. In many cases, the printer's "Properties" might require adjustment. Some printers have hardware switches controlling envelope printing. Etc.

Please choose "Tools | Envelopes... > Print", then click the "Properties..." button. This dialog should include a list of paper sizes. Is "envelope #10" among these paper sizes? What if you manually select the "envelope #10" paper size in this dialog? Does this make a difference?

Is the envelope preview in the "Tools | Envelopes..." dialog of Atlantis correct?

Do you load envelopes to the printer's intray as suggested for this envelope format in the manual of your printer?

Have you tried other feed methods in the "Tools | Envelopes..." dialog of Atlantis?

I resolved the problem using the steps you outlined. Once I got the printer happy, everything worked fine. For some reason, monarch envelopes could print when the printer was set a 8½ x 11 but Number 10 envelopes required telling the printer to use No. 10 envelopes.

Thank you. :D
