selecting printer tray for alternate pages

Post by mastindust »

I need to print a 2 pages letter, the first page on letterhead and the second on white paper (many origianl 2 page letters in the same document).

This is NOT first page to one tray and all others to another. The printer supports 4 trays (PCL).

If Atlantis does not natively support this, can I embed a PCL escape sequence to accomplish this?

Thanks

Sorry, you cannot embed PCL escape sequences in Atlantis.

Greetings--
You could easily do this in 2 runs.
For example, you could print pages "1,3,5,7,9" to the tray with the letterhead paper, then print range "2,4,6,8,10" to the blank paper tray.
You only have to enter the appropriate print ranges in the Atlantis "Print" dialog, and specify which tray is to be used in your printer dialog.

The document is generated from my application and is in excess of 500 pages. In Word and Word Perfect (even OpenOffice), I can select a tray number through the styles setting.
