Still Headings problems

Post by Andremusic »

I keep on having problems with making correct Headings in the Controlboard.

I select a line or word in the document, choose a Heading in the style menu and see that indeed, the Heading appears in the Control board. But when I click that Heading, the cursor jumps to the previous page instead of to the word that I had selected. Do I use this option wrong?

The most probable explanation is that your heading paragraph includes a manual page break. Every manual page break belongs to the paragraph that follows it. Manual page breaks should be avoided if possible. If you need every heading to start at the top of a new page, just include the "Page break before" attribute in the Paragraph format of the corresponding heading style. You can edit the formatting of any style through the Styles panel of the Control Board.

Thanks! That was the problem. Every new heading has to start on a new page and I indeed put a page break before the heading. I changed the Heading style and removed all my page breaks. It works.

Thanks!
