Cannot associate with .rtf file formats - Help

I have attempted to associate Altantis with the .rtf file format without success. I used the associate command within the Altlantis main program...it showed that the association was ok...but it did not associate no matter what the Atlantis program said. All the other files extensions did associate correctly...just not the .rtf.

I next went directly into my XP Pro program to change the extension....It will not allow me to associate the .rtf files with Atlantis.

The only programs that will associate with the .rtf format are "WordPad" and MS Office 2003. Either will associate in the customary manner.

Can anyone give me some advanced help on how to make Atlantis the default program for the .rtf file format?

If the “Tools | File Associations…” dialog of Atlantis says that Atlantis is your default word processor for RTFs, please try to dissociate Atlantis from the “rtf” file extension in the “Tools | File Associations…” dialog, then re-associate Atlantis with RTFs.

You can also right-click any RTF document in Windows Explorer, and use the “Open With > Choose Program…” menu command to associate Atlantis with RTFs.
