Atlantis converted all my Word files to Atlantis format

Post by sojourner7 »

I recently downloaded a trial version of Atlantis. Atlantis then mysteriously converted hundreds of my Word documents to Atlantis format. How can they be restored to Word's doc. format? All help is greatly appreciated.

Atlantis converted nothing. And all your documents should remain untouched by Atlantis. If you instructed the Setup file of Atlantis to associate it with the RTF and/or DOC file extensions, Atlantis is now your default word processor for these file extensions. This means that the Atlantis icons are now displayed for documents with these extensions in Windows Explorer. Also double-clicking these documents launches Atlantis.

There are multiple ways to change this:

1) You can use the "Tools | File Associations" command of Atlantis to dissociate it from the required file extensions.

2) You can uninstall Atlantis, then reinstall but not instruct the Setup to associate with the file extensions which should still belong to MS Word.

3) You can use the "Tools | Folder Options > File Types" dialog of Windows Explorer to associate the desired file extensions with the required applications.
