No matter what I try, Atlantis-Nova will not open .rtf files by clicking on them.
It looks as if Atlantis has a weird way of associating with .rtf files.
What gives?
association
Re: Nova and File Association
Greetings--
Only Atlantis Ocean Mind has this automatic feature.
With Atlantis Nova, RTF files have to be manually associated through the Windows Explorer.
Here is how to proceed:
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Locate any RTF file.
3. Right-click that file.
4. Select "Open With" from the menu.
5. Select "Choose application".
6. Click "Browse".
7. Locate and select Atlantis Nova.
8. Check "Always use this application to open this type of file".
9. OK out of the dialog.
Next time you double-click a RTF file, it should open in Atlantis Nova (note that in some cases a reboot is necessary).
Cheers
Robert

file association
This is not quite correct. Having for the umpteenth time uninstalled and reinstalled Atlantis Nova, I used an install option to associate RTF files with Atlantis, and this time it worked (I am sure I used the same setting before when it didn't work, but this may be because I used a previous version).
It was, therefore, not necessary to use the Windows routine to associate RTF files with Atlantis.
Anyway, thanks for the help.

Of course, the Atlantis Nova install has an option to associate itself with RTF files. But Windows associations are easily changed by newly-installed applications. Accordingly, the association of Atlantis with RTF files might be removed if you install another word processor or any application that would like to deal with RTF files itself.
In this case, it might be more practical to use the Windows routine if you want to re-associate Atlantis Nova with RTF files. A full re-install is unnecessary.
On the other hand, Atlantis Ocean Mind has a Tools | File Associations... dialog where you could re-associate RTF, COD, or DOC files directly from the Atlantis GUI.
