2-sided 4-up page printing
2-sided 4-up page printing
I have installed Ocean Mind 1.5.1.4 on Windows Millenium Edition and want to do 2-sided 4-up page printing. I have a Minolta-QMS PagePro 1250W laser printer. My pages are Custom 4.25" by 7" portrait orientation and will be printed out on Legal, 8.5" x 14", paper. I want the 1st sheet to be printed with the following pages in this order: 4,1,8,5,2,3,6,7. The next sheet should then be printed with the 1st sheets pages each increased by 8: 12,9,16,13,10,11,14,15. This would continue until all the pages get printed. Is there a way to print like this with one side of all the sheets being printed, then the printed stack of sheets is put back in the printer to print on the blank backside so all the pages are printed in 2 unattended passes by the printer?

You could specify 4 pages per sheet side and 1-sided printing, then enter "4,1,8,5,2,3,6,7" in the Print Range "Pages" box and print this first batch.
Then, still in the 1-sided printing mode, you could enter "12,9,16,13,10,11,14,15" in the "Pages" box, turn the stack of printed pages over, and print the backside.
This would not be totally "unattended" but it would only involve entering the page numbers for the backside half-way through.
Cheers,
Robert
You could also specify the complete page order in the Print Range "Pages" box of the "File | Print" dialog:
4,1,8,5,2,3,6,7,12,9,16,13,10,11,14,15
Then enable the two-sided printing, and print "4 pages per sheet side".
4,1,8,5,2,3,6,7,12,9,16,13,10,11,14,15
Then enable the two-sided printing, and print "4 pages per sheet side".

2-sided 4-up page printing
If you want to have the following page order for Side A of Page 1:arr242 wrote:I ... want to do 2-sided 4-up page printing.
4 1
8 5
and this page order for Side B of Page 1:
2 3
6 7
this looks like a booklet printing but with 4 pages per sheet side.
