Incorrect words in Spanish spell checker

Post by emcat »

Hi,
My friend, Chris, is testing Atlantis to see if it is useful to him (he is a translator and teacher). Here is his email:

[ran the text] through the spell check
in Atlantis. Seems it needs a lot still. None of the infinitives
with a pronoun attached at the end are there, even reflexives with
the "se" at the end. Some feminine forms are missing. And so far, I
have found one word in there that is just wrong "extrAvertido"
instead of the correct "extrOvertido". We'll see what else it
catches.

I hope anyone can give a help. :)
Thank you, emcat

The problem is that the Spanish lexicon was developed by a third party company. Well, it might contain wrong words indeed. Regrettably we could not improve it right now. Maybe in the future...

Anyway thanks for reporting the problem.

wrong word in Spanish spellchecker

Hi, emcat,
I'm sorry, but as a translator, your friend Chris should check an authoritative dictionary such as the RAE (Royal Academy of the Spanish Language) to find out that the main entry is EXTRAVERTIDO and that extrovertido only appears as the variation of the former.... :?
