collapsing sections & endnote numbering

Post by franklekens »

I've started exploring the collapse sections function: pretty nifty.

I have a document containing several sections, chunks of text that start with a level 2 and/or 3 heading. Whenever I correct one of these sections, I collapse all the others.

The document also contains some end notes, that are set to be numbered continuously through the entire document.

Now one thing I've noticed: when all the sections are expanded, the end note numbering behaves as expected. But when I collapse a number of sections, when I go to the end notes at the end of the document, they look as though the numbering starts over again with each section.

I was confused for a while and tried to change the end note properties, to no avail (since the options were already what they were supposed to be).

I'm not sure if this is expected behaviour. If not: now that I know it's the collapsing that causes this, it's no big deal. But of course, if there is a way to remedy it, that would be nice.

Atlantis is supposed to hide notes (both footnotes and endnotes) when the corresponding note references within the document's main text belong to a "collapsed" text fragment. In other words, "collapsing" a note reference should also mean "collapsing" the corresponding note. The present version of Atlantis does not always do this. This will be addressed in the next release of Atlantis. Thank you.
