Pilcrum not showing

Post by lynneconnolly »

In the latest version, I can't get my formatting marks to show. That's the double P thing that is supposed to reveal the codes. I've tried different documents, and different views, but I'm getting nothing.
Anybody know the answer to this one? It makes formatting really tricky when you can't see what you're doing!

Have you tried to click on the following button on the View toolbar:

You could also use this main menu command or the associated hot key:

Yes, of course I have! Nothing. No response, the text doesn't change. I've tried it with different documents, all the views (draft, draft wrapped, page). All nothing.

I want to see the formatting marks that are usually hidden, the paragraph marks, the carets, all that kind of thing, rather than hyphens and cedillas. Am I using the wrong command?

You should see them with the above commands. But you also need the relevant boxes to be ticked in the following dialog (Tools | Options… > View tab):

They're all ticked already.

Then, all the formatting marks should be visible! I am stumped! Could you please send your current configuration to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com (Tools | Options… > Save to File… button)? And a document with such a display problem.
TIA

So I ripped out the program and reinstalled it - and it's working. And then I loaded my settings, and nope, it wasn't there again.

The "Special symbols" color ("Tools | Options... > Colors") in your INI file is white. This is why you cannot see special symbols on white page background.
