Populating Tables with Existing Data

Post by AJSchmidt »

I'm looking for an easy way to quickly fill Atlantis tables with existing content that is arranged with columns separated by TAB characters, and rows separated by new lines.

R1C1 R1C2 R1C3
R2C1 R2C2 R2C3

The beta2.0 version does not seem to support a 1-step copy/paste operation to accomplish that conversion.

Looking in the Atlantis Help system, "Adding contents to tables":
http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en ... ntents.htm
The last example in the "Copy / paste" section comes close, but requires each data cell to be separated by a new line.

Since Atlantis already uses the TAB key for the user to navigate from one table cell to the next, it would make sense for it to be able to automatically interpret an embedded TAB character as a signal to move to the next cell within a paste operation.

The latest build of this beta supports tab-separated clipboard items.

Please choose the "Help | Check for Updates..." menu command of your beta to update.
