Installation Location Issue
Installation Location Issue
The supplemental Atlantis folder is usually installed into the My Documents or Documents folder. In Windows 10 that folder installed into the OneDrive/Documents folder. How might I prevent that or change it. I want the supplemental folder with Spellcheck to be in the original Documents folder.
Hi Dapster,
Have a look at Make Windows 10 / 8.1 save Documents locally, instead of OneDrive
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert

Robert,
I want to thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I was unable to implement the advice offered.
The group policy editor did not offer "Save documents and pictures to the local PC by default" as an option. It had only the "Prevent the usage . . " option.
Because it didn't exist, I created the mentioned key and value in the registry which also didn't allow me to install locally.
Guess I'm just lucky - good day to stay out of aircraft!

It seems the group policy editor option is only available in the Pro versions of Windows…
If you open Atlantis and display the “Tools | Options… > Load/Save tab”, is the “Suggest saving documents to” box checked? If so, does it point to “C:\Users\<User Name>\Documents\Atlantis\Documents”? If it doesn’t, you might try changing the current value.
When you right-click your “Documents” folder and choose “Properties”, does it point to “C:\Users\<User Name>\Documents”? If it doesn’t, you might try changing the current value.
You might also want to try the method described at Move the OneDrive Folder in Windows 10, Windows 7, and Previous Operating Systems

I have an activated Win 10 Pro. I also have on another PC a preview copy of build 10565 with the same group policy editor limitation.
Curiously, on the preview copy the Atlantis folder containing Spellcheck, etc. installed in the correct Documents folder.
This is almost beyond annoying. Thanks for getting me a bit more focused.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Atlantis?
