Lost slider on the right side of documents

Post by ironhat »

I was constructing a document and must have brushed against the mousepad. Suddenly, there was a general sense that something had changed. I noted that the slider on the right side of the document was no longer there. I decided to open a previously saved document to save its formatting but they too have changed. So, what's up, docs?

Is “Vertical” checked in the Atlantis “View | Scrollbars” sub-menu?

No, verticle isn't checked and it isn't even active (it's light gray). How do I make the verticle selection active?
Thanks for your reply!

Is your Atlantis in the Full Screen mode? Is the "View | Full Screen" menu command checked in your Atlantis?

No, it wasn't 'full screen' but somehow the maximized screen had become stretched (?). For the sake of those who may search out this problem in the future, I'll explain how I found that this was the cause of it.
When I minimized the file's screen (the middle button at the top of every screen) I noticed that the slider was present but when I returned it to normal (full-sized) it disappeared. I returned to the minimize screen and pulled in the right boarder by placing the pointer on the line until it turned into double arrows and then held down on the left mouse button and pulled it in. I then maximized the page again to see where the the slider was. I had to do this a couple of times, while realizing that I had lost the top margin of the document as well. I restore that as well.
I hope that this made sense and that it was the right balance between remedial and experienced user abilities. Thanks to admin and Robert whose suggestions led me to the solution.

Later,
Charles
