My standard template file is marked with a "lock" on it's icon and I can't change it nor can I find out how to unlock it or delete it.

Hi Frank,
Atlantis never “locks” files. The likely culprits: firewall, antivirus, security suite, file manager, or the system itself (have you got enough administrative rights?)
You could check if that file has the “read-only” attribute (right-click the file name in Windows Explorer, then choose “Properties”).
You might also want to try your luck with “EMCO UnLock IT”. It is a freeware available from http://emcosoftware.com/products/unlock-it/features.php.
Here is from that page:
“A neat free utility that helps you to unlock files and folders. It allows you to take a control on resources locked by a system, applications and services. For a locked resource the application detects a list of locking processes and allows to unlock the resource by closing file and library handles or terminating locking processes. The application offers Windows Explorer integration that makes possible folders and files unlocking by just a single click in the context menu.”
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert

The funny thing is that I can't view the file in Windows Explorer or any other program. I tried using LockHunter and it doesn't find the file. There are more than just this one that show as locked in Atlantis, but only in Atlantis.

Hi Frank,
Which Windows system are you running?
Could you please try the following:
1. Run Atlantis.
2. Open the “Choose Document Template” dialog (“File | Document Templates…”)
3. Is the locked template visible in the “Choose Document Template” window?
4. If it is, right-click the file name within that window, and choose “Properties” from the menu.
5. Uncheck “Read-Only” if the file is set that way.
6. OK out of the dialog.
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert

Two more possibilities:
1. The template file might have been set as “hidden”. To unhide it, make sure that “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” is checked in the Windows Explorer Advanced Folder Options (“Tools | Folder Options > View tab > Advanced settings window > Hidden files and folders sub-topic”).
2. You or someone else might have set restricted Access Controls on your Windows system. You might not have enough administrative rights to “see” some of the files. Check your UAC settings.

I'm running Win7 Home Premium.

I've checked all the above, I went through each step as described and I have full administrator rights, "show hidden files" is marked, and the file's Properties is not checked "Read Only", no one but me uses this computer and I've only had it for two weeks and it's password protected with a strong password.

Windows 7 has “improved” on previous security settings. Smile
