I'm new to using Atlantis, but am sold on it and am now using it full time for my word processing needs. My comment centers around the location of the templates being limited to the specified, reserved directory. I would like to use Atlantis on several computers connected over a network and have a common templates folder. With the requirement of using the reserved folder this isn't really possible. I was just wondering if there was a reason for the limitation to the reserved folder?
A great feature would be to allow the specification of an additional template folder (in addition to the reserved folder) that would treat the forms in that additional folder as templates.
This would allow multiple users on a network to access the same templates.
Additional Template Folders
Yes, the present version of Atlantis Word Processor does not support custom locations for document templates.
I can suggest two workarounds:
1) You can open document templates from your custom folder with the "File | Open..." menu command of Atlantis, than just resave them as a new document file to your local disk with the "File | Save As..." menu command. This would pretty the same as the "File | New | Create From Template..." menu command of Atlantis.
2) You can install Atlantis to a shared folder. You can simply copy the home folder of Atlantis from your hard disk (by default "C:\Program Files\Atlantis\") to a shared drive, and run Atlantis from there. In this way, the "Templates" folder would be also shared.
