Headers and (maybe) Footers in ePubs

Hello: I`m experimenting with ePubs and am wondering about a workaround or suggestion about... and I`m not sure if this is the proper terminology...headers and /or footers in ePubs.What I`m referring to is (in a paper book) , the author`s name and book title sometimes shown at the top of each page (usually the the author and title on facing pages- author on one page and title on the next). I`m aware that different ePub readers paginate differently ... but would there be a way to do this even if it was at the start of a new chapter only? And if this was possible ,would there be any way to automate this....instead of inserting each one by hand ? Many thanks for any and all suggestions.
