Status Bar – Status Icons

Post by Peter Merton »

I am a little puzzled by the fact that the Status Bar does not always show an icon for some of its items.
An icon does appear if I create an Encrypted Document, and I have seen it when a document has been opened from a Safe Copy.
I have not had a fatal crash so cannot comment on that item.
An icon does not appear for a Newly Created document (prior to saving), or when the active document is a Template, or when a document is in Preview Mode.
A space does exist on the status bar for the these icons, but holding the mouse pointer over that space fails to reveal any comment, whereas comments are revealed on all other sections of the status bar.
I am running version 1.6.5.1 beta 9.
Regards, Peter.

In Atlantis 1.6.5.1 we have made a number of adjustments to some "old" features like toolbars, (document window) scrollbars, previews in "Open/Save ..." dialogs, and, yes, the status bar of Atlantis. 3 of 6 status bar icons - "New document", "Document template", and "Print preview" - have been removed since they did not indicate any (really) useful information. They rather reflected the current state of the corresponding internal flags of a document. Let's take the "Print preview" icon as example. There is no sense in having this icon in the status bar. When you activate the "Print Preview" mode, the dedicated "Preview" toolbar clearly indicates that this mode is on.

These adjustments will be reflected in the Help system of the official release of Atlantis 1.6.5.1.
