I am busy using the recently received new beta version of Atlantis (1.6.2.0) with Overused Words. This feature is proving to be increasingly helpful during article and paper preparation.
Now a strange problem has started. A document in Word was emailed to me. I tried to open it as a .doc file in Atlantis and got an Access Violation message. Atlantis then shuts down when clicking on OK.
I saved the document in Word as an RTF file and tried to open it with Atlantis. Again the Access Violation message and Atlantis shuts down when clicking on OK.
This occurred about four or five times with the same document when trying to open it. Each occasion bore a different Access Violation number (or Exception Violation). Therefore I have not recorded the numbers. Has anybody else reported such a problem?
The only other times I have experienced this was with a previous version of Atlantis which would give a similar message if I shut down my computer without first exiting Atlantis.
I need to revert to using a previous version of Atlantis.
Would that be Atlantis16en_1_9c4.zip?
And is it necessary to remove the entire Atlantis from my computer before installing Atlantis16en_1_9c4.zip?
I really would appreciate your help on this one.
Regards, Peter

Could you please email your DOC file to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com?

Thanks for the DOC file. This bug has been fixed. Please download and run the setup file of the latest beta version of Atlantis Word Processor 1.6.2 from the Betatesting page. Thanks for reporting this bug.

Thank you for the latest Beta version of 1.6.2. Successfully downloaded the update and problem file opened without any hassles, but only once. I knew it was going to be fine because it displayed the contents in the preview screen. Thereafter it came up with an Access Violation 00401A0A when I tried to open it again.
I did find a way around this by opening the offending file with another program, saving it with a slightly modified name but keeping the DOC extension, and opening it successfully in Atlantis without a problem. But it seems there is still a bug of some sort.
This does not happen with any other DOC files.
Thanks for your trouble.

DOC file problems
Good Day,
The above problem now seems to be resolved. This morning I have re-installed Atlantis and opened the offending DOC file many times without a problem. I have also opened many other DOC files without hassles.
Many thanks for all your trouble. My apologies if I have caused you any problems.
