I'm trying to change the first line indent on a manuscript from .5" to .25", but am having no luck. The indent indicator on the ruler changes, but the indents in the document do not change. I have the text highlighted, and the highlighting reflects the change, but not the text.
I tried Style also, but without success. This should be simple, but I'm clearly doing something wrong.
First Line Indent
Do you have tabs in your paragraph? Could you please send your document to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com, or attach it to your forum reply?
There are .5" tabs in parts of the document and no tabs in other parts (I manually indent.)
I solved the problem as far as this document is concerned. On an impulse I opened it in Word, set the first line indent to .25" and it worked. But when I open the document in Atlantis, I start having problems.
I'll be glad to send the unmodified (.5" indent) document to Support. I am using Version 1.6.1.7.

Thanks for the file.
I can change the indents in your document without a problem. But there are 2,700+ paragraphs in your document. Which of them are you trying to reformat?
Note that the chapters nineteen through forty-seven of your document have a decimal tab stop 0.01" on the ruler:

This tab stop makes it difficult to capture the left indent box on the ruler:

By the way, we suggest you upgrade to the latest version of Atlantis Word Processor. It includes a number of bug fixes and improvements in comparing to 1.6.1.7. Just choose the "Help | Check for Updates..." menu command of your Atlantis. Upgrading is free.

Originally, I wanted to change the entire document from 0.5" first line indent to 0.25" to better simulate a published novel (for feedback reads). Part of the document complied, part remained at 0.5", and part went crazy. I assume this was because there was a tab at 3.51" in places, which was for some other document. Clearing the tabs didn't help.
I now have a good copy, and will upgrade to the later version of Atlantis and will see how things go. I'll also make sure there aren't any stray tabs around when I start a new document.
Thanks for addressing my problem.
