Hot Keys

Post by Peter Merton »

Atlantis must have the most comprehensive set of Hot Keys of any word processor I know. They give added power and speed like you cannot believe. Ever typed a one page document that overflows three lines onto the next page? What a waste of a page. Try this: With the document open:
1 Press F9 for full screen
2 Ctrl Minus to reduce document size until both pages are on screen
3 Ctrl A to highlight the whole document.
Then use one or all of the next four Hot Key combinations:
4 Alt F G and reduce margins slightly – check the result
5 Ctrl Alt Left Arrow to reduce Character spacing – check the result
6 Ctrl [ to reduce the font size. – check the result.
7 Alt O P S choose Exactly as Line Spacing option and reduce gradually, checking the result each time.
One or a combination of these choices will sort your problem out. Experiment with them and see how satisfying it can be to get it right. Atlantis always gets it right.
Cheers.

Hi Peter,
You can also use “Shrink page count” on a whole document, even on a one page document with a small overflow.
By default, “Shrink page count” is available in the “Preview” mode (Ctrl+F2). But you can place it on any of your toolbars, or assign a hot key to it if you’re going to use it often (“Tools | Toolbars…” or “Tools | Hot Keys…”)
Cheers,
Robert

Hi Robert,
I should have known you would have had a solution already! Thanks for this tip. It works like a charm.
Cheers,
