Documents from another program won't spell check

I was using Microsoft Works and when I got Atlantis, I transferred all of my files into it.  New docments that I make in Atlantis will spell check, but my old documents won't.  Why?

How did you get your Microsoft Works files to open in Atlantis? I have some Works files (*.wps) and they won't even open in Atlantis, as the Help indicates that Works is not one of the supported formats. I have opened documents from Word using Atlantis and run spellcheck on them without incident. Have you tried opening your Works files in Works, and saving them all as *.rtf?
