Chinese typing and touch support

Post by terence »

I really like Atlantis but there are a few issues I hope you can address.

1. Typing in Chinese (I use a Windows built-in input method called "New Cangjie") is not as fast as in other word processors. It is because Atlantis has to bring up a special window with a green arrow and copy the string of words to the document.

Screenshot 1 shows what happens when I type the Chinese word 火(fire ) 4 times . To type the word, press "F" then the space bar.

In a file of hundreds of pages, switching to the Chinese input method makes typing laggy, even when I am merely inputting numbers. When I switch to the English input method, the lagging is gone.

What confuses me is that when I try to input Chinese words in the search box, Atlantis does not need the window with the green arrow. It puts the words directly into the search box, as in other word processors. Look at Screenshot 2 please.

I would be grateful this could be fixed.

2. I asked in this forum before, but it there any chance that Atlantis will enhance its touch support very soon? In Ms Word, I can scroll up and down a document (and the Navigation Pane, its equivalent to Control Board) with the touch of fingers. The scrolling accelerates with a harder swipe. Even notepad has this.

Since I do a lot on editing on my Surface pro 4 as a tablet, this upgrade of touch-friendless will definitely help me and many other users.

Thanks!
