editing the autocorrect dictionary more rapidly

I like using autocorrect to do a very few things, like change a -- to a —. or Bronte to Brontë, but most of the corrections used I would prefer not to trigger. The problem I have is that manually deleting entries from the autocorrect dictionary would take forever, because there are so many. I also switch keyboard layouts in order to type letters with accents regularly.

What I'm hoping is that either I can set a default language for a new document (<none>) that will not revert to my keyboard setting, or edit the autocorrect entries more rapidly to delete thousands of them, perhaps if they exist in a text file somewhere.

Note that any correction that Atlantis makes automatically can immediately be dismissed with Ctrl+Z, or with a click on the "Undo" toolbar button.

Also note that the Atlantis AutoCorrect can type letters with accents for you automatically. Please have a look at section "D. AutoCorrect" of this AtlanTip: Inserting characters not available directly through the keyboard.

You could also create dedicated templates for new documents, each with a specific "default language". For example, you could have a specific template for documents whose default language is British English (named "Normal GB.rtf", for example), another for documents whose default language is US English (named "Normal US.rtf", for example), another for documents whose default language is French (named "Normal FR.rtf", for example), etc.. You could even create a template whose default language is <none>. When these templates are available, you can readily create new appropriate documents with a click on the dedicated toolbar button: . For example, here is how to create a template dedicated to the creation of documents whose default language is <none>:
1. Press Ctrl+N.
2. Press Ctrl+A.
3. Click "Format | Language..." and choose <none> as the document language. OK out of the "Language" dialog.
4. Click "Format | Default Language...", check "Associate all new text with the following language", then choose <none> as the document default language. OK out of the "Default Language" dialog.
5. Click "File | Save Special > Save As Template...", and save this new template as "None Language.rtf", for example.
When you need to create a new document whose default language is <none>, simply click the "Create new document from template" button , and choose the "None Language.rtf" template from the templates list.
Of course, you can create such dedicated templates with any other default language.

Wonderful, that solved my problem; standard rtf documents now begin with the <none> dictionary that only has my selected corrections. Much appreciated.
