Question About Tracking Changes / Metadata

Post by freecicero »

After a number of years of reading about the following issue I remain confused on how best to deal with it in other word processors, and that causes me to ask this:

I know Atlantis does not have features relating to Tracking Changes or Comments, and when I open Document Properties the data shown in Atlantis seems much abbreviated than what is shown in some other word processors.

My questions relate to that:

1 - What happens when a document which has tracking changes enabled in Word is changed in Atlantis? I take it the document remains usable in Word or other programs, but is the Tracking Changes and/or Comment data corrupted or added to in any way?

2- Is there any ability in Atlantis to see what "metadata" /changes /comments may exist with a file? I seem to remember that at one point WordPerfect had a "save without metadata" option. Is there anything we can do within Atlantis to monitor the metadata that we might get in files that we open from another word processor to know what is in it?

thanks!

1. If a document contains "tracked changes" and/or "comments", and you re-save it with Atlantis, there would be no "tracked changes"/"comments" in the modified document file.

2. Sorry, no such feature in Atlantis.

Thanks. That is essentially what I needed to know. I work with a lot of re-used documents created by others, and that gives me something of an idea as to how the document will look if I work with them and send it back.
