any function similar to comments in MS Word

Post by Leopoldus »

Hello,

As much as I could understand, Atlantis ignores any comments in MS Word original 2003/2010 documents, when they are opened in Atlantis. Is there any way at least to get notified, that the opened MS Word document has some comments, which can not be shown in Atlantis?

Another question: is there in Atlantis any functional similar to comments in MS Word in order to add by the reviewer some remarks to the original text? I've considered using footnotes for this purpose, but it does not seem to be convenient.

Thanks!

Sorry, but Atlantis could not show notifications regarding unsupported formatting/elements of a document.

Sorry, there is no similar feature.

I have a similar issue because my academic supervisor likes to use MSWord comments. I just installed a cheap second hand copy of Word to rread them. The only problem is MSWord is pushy )as well as horrible in many other ways). Every time I open it it sets itself as default GRRR

But to make edit comments yourself, footnotes work very well because hovering the footnote number gives a popup with its content. Actually tidier than those yucky bubbles.
I guess the only problem then is mixing real footnotes. You could add a quick symbol next to an edit footnote like E.
