Table of Content Background shading

Is it possible to remove the grey shading which automatically appears when creating a TOC?

Hi Ken,
This is “field shading”. It can be turned off permanently or shown only when the “View | Special Symbols” mode is ON. This is done in the “Tools | Options… > View tab”. Please, have a look at View Settings
